"Should The Virgin Mary Be Worshiped?"
The answer to this is very simple, NO, she should not. Mary was not and is not God. Mary was simply a woman chosen by God to bring into the world in human form the Son of God in the body of the man Jesus. As we know Mary and Joseph went on to have other children all of whom were of the seeds of Joseph and Mary. By this we can see that Mary was no longer a virgin but rather a woman that enjoyed a relationship with her husband.
Mary was a sinner just as all of us are. Rom. 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" She also needed salvation and still had to believe that Jesus was the Son of the Living God. While she was a good woman and God did use her for a very wonderful deed, that does not make her a god nor does it make her worthy of worship, or exempt her from the need of salvation. I believe that Mary just as any other person that has ever lived except our Lord would be ashamed to know that anyone worshiped them in any way. Exd 34:14 "For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name [is] Jealous, [is] a jealous God:" To make Mary a god and worship her violates the commandments of our Lord.
Lastly, The belief that Mary is the Mother of God is a disgrace to who our God is. Our God is self – existent and was never born and He has no mother. Life comes from Him and not to Him. Mary was the mother of the man Jesus. She gave birth to the son of man that was also the Son of God. The Son of God existed before coming to this earth. His life did not began at this birth, but for the son of man it did. Some have confused the son of man with the Son of God. The son of man died on the cross not the Son of God. While they are one of the same we must see both sides of Him. God was never born nor did He ever die, God cannot die!
